Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Iski-Naukat, Fergana, Kyrgyzstan. A.S. Telenkov, 1964 (468, p.82). The term is used restrictively. B.I. Pinhasov

Synonym: Iskinaukat Suite, Искинаукатская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Red-colored siltstone (aleurolites), sandstones, in the eastern part - sandstones with lenticular interlayers of gravelites. Thickness up to 330 m.

Lower contact

Often lies unconformably on the Karasugat Fm

Upper contact

It is unconformably overlain by the Aldyr Fm or Akburin Fm

Regional extent

Fergana. Along A., it is correlated with the Iskinaukat-Mioc Fmwith the Chil'darin Fm of Darvaz (Tajikistan), others - with the subsalt and salt-bearing suites of the scheme of N.P. Vasilkovsky (126; 166). A.S. Telenkov, P.K. Chikhachev. P, age of the stratigraphic legend (444). Along B.I. Pinhasov, it is a constituent part of the Mailisay suite (Lower-Middle Miocene).
